Early Scholars Enrichment Program
Early Scholars is a small-group enrichment program designed for children ages 4–6 who are ready for more opportunities to learn, explore and grow.
2 Day Program - Tuesday & Thursday 1pm-3:30pm
Through engaging, hands-on experiences, children strengthen early literacy and numeracy skills, explore STEM and inquiry, develop problem-solving skills, and build the confidence and independence that support their next stage of learning.
More opportunities to learn. More time to explore.
Early Scholars is a great fit for families looking to add meaningful learning experiences to their child's week. This may include children attending half-day Kindergarten or ECDP/EEP, children in part-time programs, or families simply looking for an additional enrichment opportunity.
The program is intentionally designed to complement, not duplicate, a child's other early learning or school experiences.
What Children Will Explore:
Literacy + Numeracy
Building strong foundations through language, early reading and writing experiences, number concepts, games and hands-on learning.
STEM + Discovery
Science, building, experimenting, inquiry and problem-solving that encourage children to ask questions, test ideas and discover how things work.
Creativity + Critical Thinking
Open-ended projects and experiences that encourage children to imagine, plan, create and think in new ways.
Confidence + Independence
Opportunities to make choices, take appropriate risks, develop independence and feel capable as learners.
Friendships + Social Development
A small-group environment where children practice collaboration, communication, self-regulation and relationship-building.
The Early Start Difference
Early Scholars is offered through Early Start Learning Centre, an established and award-winning Fort McMurray childcare program.
Our approach combines intentional learning with the relationships, play and meaningful experiences young children need. Children aren't expected to sit at desks or spend their afternoon completing worksheets. Learning is active, engaging and designed specifically for this important stage of development.
